This web site updates in real time various statistics such as current world population, births, deaths, things like that. But it also has some more interesting ones such as "lightning strikes to the earth this year", and "Military spending worldwide this year
(in millions of US Dollars)" For those that are skeptical, (as I was) can check out how they come up with their numbers here. Obviously the numbers aren't 100% accurate, are any statistics really? Never the less, it's an interesting way of viewing them. There's something very humanizing about watching the counter for cancer deaths click over every ten seconds, or the counter for abortions every two. Link.
