New Invention By Maker Of The Segway Could Wipe Out "50% Of Human Disease"

From Gizmodo Link.

Caught for the first time on video, Segway inventor Dean Kamen presented his Vapor Compression Distiller on last night's Colbert Report. The distiller is a chemical-, membrane-, and filter-free water purifier. Kamen claims the box draws pure drinkable water from oceans, poisons—even a 50-gallon drum of urine. He has reportedly worked on the contraption for five years, but early prototypes were pretty ugly. This one looks ready for mass production, and with enough, Kamen says we could "wipe out 50% of human disease." Good luck with that, Deano, we're behind you all the way. (That other 50% must be a monumental bitch.)

The Big Dog: Creepy Robot Sherpa.

It's cool to start to see robots develop to the point where they could be useful in at least some peoples everyday life. This newest incarnation of the Pentagon-funded pack mule is seen in this video carrying 340 pounds. Even on ice, this thing did a better job at staying up than I ever could. It's a new day.

Rupert Murdoch Wants to Sodomize You!

O.K. maybe not. But this really isn't that far off from the lengths his empire will go to, to make you believe what they want you to believe. OUTFOXED: Rupert Murdoch's War on Journalism, is an amazing documentary. Anyone, who consumes any, type of news media should see this film. Here's the trailer below. And this is a link to watch the whole film.

The Holodeck Is Born!! Gamers Change Their Underwear.

From Ananova.com. Link.

The ultimate in video gaming has arrived - but at more than £15,000 it comes in a bit dearer than a PS3 or Xbox. The VirtuSphere is like an oversized hamster's exercise ball that immerses the user in a 3D virtual reality world.

Players don a motion-tracking headset to project the visuals and then they are ready to begin virtual exploration.

They can run, jump, roll, or crawl over virtually unlimited distances without encountering real world obstacles.

The large hollow sphere sits on rollers allowing it to rotate through 360 degrees and move freely in any direction - without actually going anywhere at all.

The Washington-based manufacturers describe it as the ultimate computer games peripheral, but say it could also be used as a unique exercise treadmill or for simulation exercises.

Trent's Ghosts I-IV Clears 1.6 Million In One Week

From the Chicago Tribune. By Greg Kot Link.

A week after releasing his four-volume instrumental work “Ghosts I-IV” through his Web site, Nine Inch Nails’ Trent Reznor is reporting that he amassed more than $1.6 million in orders and downloads.

Reznor made the albums available at five different prices, including a free download, without any advance publicity. His marketing campaign, such as it is, consisted of a terse announcement on his nin.com Web site. On Wednesday, he reported 781,917 transactions, including free and paid downloads and orders of physical product. A $300 box set sold out of 2,500 copies within a day. Nine of the 36 songs were made available as a free download. The complete set also was available as a $5 download, a $10 double-CD and a $75 set with bonus visual content.

This wasn't the first time this was done. Radiohead released their album "In Rainbows" with a pay what you want platform back in October. The difference is they didn't release sales statistics. So one can only hope this wakes up the record labels enough to seriously question their ever shrinking role in the industry, and come up with something other than suing music fans. I really can't think of a better idea than paying five dollars for an album and having the money go straight to the artist. Makes sense, no? Obviously this wouldn't work for everybody, but if enough artists go that route it might be enough to force the "big four" to fix this broken industry.

Bodog Battle Of The Bands : Canadian Finals

I was at the Bodog battle of the bands last week, where i got to see my cousins band Down In Ashes rock out. It was a great show, unfortunately it seems there was a fair deal of politics involved with the judging. 40 Sons and Daughters took top prize, much to the surprise of many people watching the show. Either way, here's a link to Down In Ashes single, Sexy Machinery.

Another band of note from the evening was A&R. They're from Toronto and they rock. Check'em out.

Candidates For The Presidency Of The United States Of America

O.K. as a Canadian I know I should be more concerned with Canadian politics than American. But since the proposed American Union would combine us with the States and Mexico it seems more relevant than ever. So my question to the American people is this: Why haven't you been voting for Ron Paul? It just seems to me that if you have a candidate that supports the constitution, and the retention of civil liberties. Along with ending the U.S. Interventionist foreign policy, which no doubt is the reason the world has such a negative view of America. And to top it off wants to abolish the illegal Federal Tax and the Federal Reserve. You would think that that person would be thrown into office before you could say "Fuck Hillary ". So America...WTF?

Here's a link to a site that has states each candidates stance on various issues, with sources to back up the claims. People should see what we're in for. And for anyone out there that believes in Jesus, now would be a good time to ask for help.

TSA endangers child's life by contaminating his feeding tube despite pleas

From Boing Boing:

The TSA endangered the life of child who has a surgical feeding tube in his stomach by opening up his backup tube, contaminating it. The child pleaded with the TSA officer, who said that she had to open it or refuse to allow the child to board the plane. After an Orlando television station investigated the story, the TSA agreed to look into the incident:
James Hoyne, 14, has a feeding tube in his stomach and carries a back-up in a sealed clear plastic bag. Hoyne said two weeks ago a TSA officer insisted on opening the sterile equipment, contaminating his back-up feeding up tube which he later needed.

"I said 'Please don't open it' and she said 'I have to open it whether you like it or not. If I can't open it, I can't let you on the plane,'" Hoyne said of his conversation with the TSA screener.

New Justice Video!!

Justice's new video is a throwback to those 3D animations that would precede or follow television programs in the '70s and '80s. Awesome.
