Marcy Kaptur Slams Wallstreet Bailout.

Let's hope this type of thinking catches on.

We Got A Fucking Problem Here: Army Opens Up Base In....US.

I've always believed that when the US Government REALLY pushed it's citizens to the brink they would revolt and start anew. Seems the US government agrees, and they don't want to let something like the Constitution get in the way of their mission.

Human Cloning Approved In Austrailia

"The Australian government has issued the world’s first licence for the cloning of humans, reports the Reuters news agency. Sydney IVF has been given permission to clone human embryos in order to harvest stem cells. Because these cells have the ability to transform into cells of all types, they are potentially invaluable in the treatment of some diseases.

Sydney IVF will get access to 7,200 ovules. But its work will be monitored by the National council of Australia for health and medical research.

The Council’s chairman, John Findlay, has stressed that scientists only have the right to work with embryos. They are banned from passing to the next stage – inserting a cloned embryo into a womb.

Australia removed the ban on cloning in 2006. Nevertheless, laws remain in place prohibiting human cloning for the purposes of reproduction." Link.

X-Treme LA (Landscape Architecture)

I just finished the Kalamazoo / New Buffalo work related trip as mentioned and will try to quickly brief you on my journeys. A group of landscape architects including my self have just finished the three day design challenge hosted by Landscape Forms and The Landscape Architecture Foundation to develop a future master plan for the small city of New Buffalo, Michigan. This link directs you to Metropolis Magazine's article with photos by Jim Luning.

I'm now off to Chicago!

I'll hopefully try to update you all while there for a week but if not then I'll certainly give you guys the low-down upon my return. Noel Gallagher of Oasis attacked on stage at V-Fest in Toronto

Wow, it's never a dull moment for any Oasis show whether the incident with Jay-Z at Glastonbury or across the Atlantic in Toronto for the Virgin Festival. I am unsure if karma had something to do with it or whether the attacker just wanted his 15 minutes of fame but nevertheless what kind of security even allowed the guy to worm himself on to the stage.

I just remembered, a friend of ours was just given two V-fest tickets an hour before Oasis performed. Hopefully she made it on time to witness this.
