Who Doesnt Love the Theremin?

The theremin, invented in 1919, was one of the earliest electronic instruments. It remains one of the only instruments you don't need to physically touch in order to play. The distance of you hand from the vertical antenna controls pitch, while the horizontal antenna controls volume. Check out this guys rendition of Don't Worry, Be Happy. GOLD JERRY!

Radiohead uses the similar sounding ondes Martenot which gives their music a very dreamlike quality. In "Where I End and You Begin", the instrument is very prominent. I think that song was what made me fall in love with the band.

Theremins have such an eerie sound - it's almost strange to hear it used in this "happy" song. I second your question-- who DOESN'T love the Theremin? :)
